Visual ambiance

First I looked for the place where I'd like my level to take place. I thought a mountain valley would be a good choice. This would allow me to create a daytime level with many shadows to create different visual ambiances.

Visual elements

I thought that choosing a mountain valley would be a good choice for a linear level. What's more, the idea of a river running down the heart of the mountain makes a great guiding element for the player, as the level follows the river all the way.
